The Magic Hour
Anticipation reigns supreme as the boat speeds up and heads for the open bay for a day of sturgeon fishing. This is a great time of the year to share a day with friends and family on board with Fishhookers Sportfishing. Tight Lines !!! Leaving Pittsburg Marina  Gerry Madrid, Nikon Coolpix
Oregon Painted Hills
The absolute beauty of the painted hills in central Oregon stops one in their tracks as they round the bend and see the first scene. The walking trails are easy and provide different views of the area. Chukar are everywhere and can be seen and heard all over the valley. Well worth the side trip and information about the area is right on site. John Day area, Oregon  Gerry Madrid, Nikon SLR

A Real Keeper
If you pulled up this fish, you would throw it back, Right? Well, it is the greeter at the Bridgewater Fish House at 1297 Bay St, Florence, OR 97439. This place has the best Cioppino on this planet. Bridgewater Fish house, Florence, OR  Ken Barrett
Morning Serenity
Early morning, an airplane approaching the Sacramento airport, we're waiting for a shad bite and casting for stripers at the same time. This just might be what is referred to as "the magic hour". Verona on Sacramento River  Gerry Madrid

Heaven On Earth
The reviews say it all: "For our family vacation we wanted a true get-away, something that felt away from society, but close to modern conveniences. I think this was called the Dream View home, and it thoroughly lived up to its name. There is no Photoshop involved in the pictures - the views are really that stunning. We drove up from San Francisco and were surprised how quickly we were in Redding. The house is 10-15 minutes from Redding but a world away on its own private mountain road. Everything is updated and modern, and the layout is very intelligent with double balconies, upstairs and downstairs bedrooms and bathrooms. We used this as a base of operations for going horseback riding in Yreka, river rafting on the Trinity (Weaverville)and, of course, boating on Lake Shasta. Thanks Shasta Lake Properties!" Blue Captivation
Taken on a cool June evening during the Blue Hour, the Sundial Bridge in Redding is a destination for both tourists and locals alike. In addition to the attraction of the Bridge, it is also part of a walking trail running along the Sacramento River. Whether you're looking for relaxation or exercise, this bridge boasts beauty, functionality, and abundant wildlife.   Stephanie Lungi
First Catch at Hat Creek
After six hours of fishing and lots of great advice from fellow anglers, my son landed his first fish, a beautiful (and delicious) rainbow trout, near the bridge at Hat Creek Resort. He's the fourth generation in my family to drop a line in Hat Creek.   Casey Freeland
Very Surprised Fish
Vince Bogdanovich fished for 3 days without catching a fish. At dusk on the last day, we motored through the pea-green water to the opening of a spring at Ahjumawi, and rowed into the crystal clear waters. It was there that Vince finally hooked up. The line untied from the hook after it was in the net. There was a black bear watching the action just a hundred yards away.   Matt Bogdanovich
